Printed book (mailed to you)
For older adults — and anyone — who want paper they can hold without printing at home. You get a large-print book with a spiral binding, on regular letter-size paper, in color. It includes the matching printable file. It arrives in about three weeks.
- Printed Complete — $79 with shipping in the U.S.: the full binder on paper, plus the Complete printable file.
- Printed Core — $49 with shipping in the U.S.: the Core essentials on paper, plus the Core printable file.
Send a message to our Etsy shop to order the printed book
We do not yet have a separate “buy now” page for the printed book on Etsy. For now, open the Family Care Plans shop on Etsy, click Message, and ask for Printed Complete ($79) or Printed Core ($49). Please include the name and mailing address for delivery.
Or print it yourself for free: buy any printable edition, then print at home or at any print shop (Staples, Office Depot, the library, or FedEx Office). Ask them for a spiral binding or a three-ring binder — either works.

- Download: Etsy emails you a link. You can also find the files under You, then Purchases on etsy.com in a regular web browser.
Which one should I get?
- Most families (printable file): Complete Edition, $44.
- Just the essentials (printable file): Core Edition, $27.
- A printed book in the mail: Printed Complete $79 or Printed Core $49 — send a message to the shop.
- A veteran in the family: Veteran Family Bundle, $39 (Core + Veteran) or Everything Bundle, $54 (Complete + Veteran).
- Already own the Complete Edition: the Aging in Place Checklist is the same as its Section 21; add the Veteran Family Add-on, $17 instead if you need that.
Format and license
Printable file on letter-size paper (8.5 by 11 inches), large print. Print it and fill it in by hand (you cannot type into the file). The printed book uses the same pages with a spiral binding. For personal and family use only — please do not resell or share the files.
Refunds
Printable files: once delivered, we cannot refund them. If a file will not open, message us through the Etsy shop and we will send it again. For a printed book, message the shop before we start printing if you need to cancel.
Common questions
Is this a legal document?
No. It only helps you write down where your will, power of attorney, and advance directive are kept. For legal papers, talk with a licensed attorney in your state.
Do I need to fill in all of it?
No. Start with the one-hour Quick Start and the one-page Emergency Grab Sheet. One page filled in is better than a perfect binder left empty.
Can I type into the file on my computer?
No. It is made for large print on regular letter-size paper (8.5 by 11 inches). You print it and fill it in by hand. Or you can order a printed book that we mail to you — see Prices.
How do I order and get my binder?
To get a file you print yourself: buy on Etsy. You get the file right away by email, and you can also find it under You, then Purchases on etsy.com in a regular web browser (the Etsy phone app cannot download files). To get a printed book mailed to you: send a message to our Etsy shop and ask for the printed binder. It arrives in about three weeks and includes the printable file too.
Can I get a paper binder without using a computer?
Yes. Ask a family member or friend to send a message to the Family Care Plans shop on Etsy and order the printed book for you. Or they can buy the printable file and take it to any print shop. Printed Complete is $79 with shipping. Printed Core is $49 with shipping. Both are large print, spiral-bound books, and include the printable file.
What is the difference between the printed book and the file I print myself?
The file you print yourself is ready right away. Nothing is mailed. You print it at home or at a print shop. The printed book is a large-print, spiral-bound copy we mail to your door in about three weeks, and it includes the same printable file. Many older adults like paper they can hold. Many adult children buy the file and print it at home.
Can I get my money back?

Does it tell me which Medicare plan to choose?
No. We do not recommend plans. For free, unbiased help, call 1-800-MEDICARE or your state's free Medicare counseling program (often called SHIP — State Health Insurance Assistance Program).
I am a veteran. Will this get me benefits?
No. It is a checklist of what to ask. Only the Department of Veterans Affairs decides who qualifies. Free accredited Veterans Service Officers can help you apply.
Where should I keep it?
Somewhere safe, like a locked drawer or a fire-resistant box. Never write full account numbers, PINs, or passwords. The binder shows how to record the last four digits and where things are kept.
